They have taught me so much over the last year and have been really welcoming and warm and continue to inspire my spiritual journey on this plane of life. I’ve attended the services every month straight since then and now have a wonderful relationship with a lot of the students. The service concluded with the most ecstatic bhajans I’ve ever heard and a spiritually prepared vegetarian meal (prasadam). Hearing the discourse really pulled on my heart strings.

Her attitude seemed so selfless and devoted to God. Her words were filled with compassion, love and a real concern for all beings. Upon hearing Swamini speak I knew I was in the presence of something and someone Divine and unique. Just a few moment after I sat down, the music faded away as Sri Hari prepared a MP3 player to play a discourse from the Guru, Swamini Turiyasangitananda. More students were inside sitting in silence amongst the ambient sounds and calming aroma and in seemingly meditative states. I lightly knocked on the screen door and as it opened, I was welcomed by one of the students, Sri Hari who showed me to a seat. I could also hear soft enchanting synths whirling through the atmosphere. When I arrived to the house where the service was being held I could smell the sweet aroma of frankincense flowing through the air. Unfortunately the ashram had been closed for a while, however one of Swamini’s students replied and informed me of in-home gatherings that were held by the initiated students and invited me to the next one coming up. Because of my longing, I searched for the ashram online and emailed the provided address. I heard that Swamini Turiyasangitananda had an ashram in Agoura Hills maybe 40 minutes from where I lived where her iniated students used to live and she gave spiritual discourses. There were so many mantras being sung, I wanted to know more about them, their meaning, the cosmic soundscapes behind them and their divine composer. After studying the sonic messages of Swamini’s music (especially the Ashram recordings) for sometime, I began to have a deep longing for whatever realm these messages and sounds came from. The meeting of both were truly divine instances, in sync and right on time. It was through Swamini’s music that I got my first taste and glance of the Holy Names of Krishna and Rama, and it was the devotees of Krishna that helped me cultivate my devotion for the Supreme and provided me with the sacred ancient literature of Bhakti.

Her music had a mysticism about it that I’ve never heard or felt before, it sounded like something truly out of this world! Going forward a year later I had the blessing of meeting the devotees of Sri Krishna, who taught me the essence of Bhakti Yoga through the Bhagavad Gita, kirtan and other forms of devotional service all through the guidance given by spiritual teacher Srila Prabhupada.

At the same time of discovering her music, I was doing some serious inner work and spiritual seeking. Swamini Turiyasangitananda and my life has never been the same. About 3 years ago, I was introduced to the music of A.C.
